For this grant I wrote a proposal to have students research an artist and then create a puppet in the likeness of that artist. The students created a Power Point presentation for their research and printed out a photo or painting OF the artist to work from. The next step was to create head, hands and feet from clay, and paint them. Then they made a body and clothing from fabric and stuffing. Finally all the parts were connected together with string and glue. The grant was for purchase of a marionette How-to books for my classroom library, dowels, clay, string and a sewing machine. Supplies already on hand included fabric, paints, yarn and other embellishing supplies.
